Dr. Tianyuan Yu (1965) is a third-class professor, chief physician, and doctoral supervisor at the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. He is also the head of the key discipline "Tuina Science" of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the double first-class discipline "Tuina Science" of the Ministry of Education, and the double first-class curriculum "Tuina Science". His main research field is the mechanism of Chinese tuina. His research primarily focuses on the mechanism of Chinese tuina through the intervention of "three methods and three acupoints" on the rat sciatic nerve model, the mechanism of tuina in the treatment of peripheral nerve injury, and the antipyretic mechanism of pediatric tuina through the intervention of "six antipyretic manipulations" on young rabbits with lipopolysaccharide-induced fever. He has trained 51 master's students and 18 doctoral students. His team has published more than 200 high-quality research articles in prestigious journals and more than 100 academic monographs. Furthermore, they have invented four kinds of tuina manipulation simulators to make the experiment more standardized. In addition, he has successively presided over 20 national, provincial, and ministerial projects.
